Sky1 has greenlit Welcome to My Garden, a new competitive gardening format, from Outline Productions.
Welcome to My Garden (6×60’, working title) each week visits a region of Britain to meet three gardening enthusiasts who take it in turns to visit – and judge – each others’ gardens.
Welcome to My Garden (w/title) is the second commission to come out of Sky 1 Director, Adam MacDonald’s priority investment in the channel’s 8pm slot that he outlined last November and follows on the heels of the announcement of The Sun Set (w/t), last week.
Outline Productions Managing Director Laura Mansfield said: “We’re thrilled to be working with Sky 1 HD on this wonderfully warm and entertaining new format. Welcome to My Garden will give viewers a chance to peek over the hedge into some of Britain’s most amazing private gardens – from quirky, wild country estates to stunning contemporary urban spaces –and be inspired by what ordinary people have created. “
Siobhan Mulholland, Commissioning Editor of Factual and Features at Sky said: “Welcome to My Garden” will be a fun, factual, Sky 1 series with lots of warmth and insights into gardeners and their creations. It will tap into one of the British public’s biggest passions.”
Welcome to My Garden was developed by Outline’s Head of Development Shona Baldwin and is being series produced by Alan Boyle and executive produced by Laura Mansfield and Helen Veale.
It was commissioned by Adam MacDonald and Siobhan Mulholland. The format and finished programmes are being distributed internationally by Hat Trick International.
