The partnership will enable the Show Me Your Garden indie grow its business by bolstering its development fund to help create series for UK and international broadcasters that DRG will then distribute globally.
The distribution deal follows an agreement struck between the businesses earlier this month for Born On [pictured] – the Norwegian show which Outline is to re-make for Channel 4 after optioning the rights to the format from DRG.
DRG has previously distributed Outline series including C4’s Jo Frost: Extreme Parental Guidance.
Outline Productions managing director Laura Mansfield said that the deal would help push the business to a “new level”.
“DRG and the Nice Group are a forward thinking group, particularly in regard to hub production which they’ve used successfully in the past. We feel that this collaboration and approach will enable production of ambitious projects across multiple territories,” she said.
Richard Halliwell, chief operating officer at DRG, added: “It is essential that as the market consolidates we embrace new models and ways of working to ensure continued access to the very best pipeline of content.
“We are really pleased and excited to be developing a strategic relationship with one of the UK’s most successful production companies so that both companies can reach our shared international ambitions.”
