Great British Food Revival S2
The Outline
Great British Food Revival is back with our favourite chefs and foodies each championing the cause of an unloved, under-rated or forgotten British raw ingredient.

Following the success of the first series, Outline Productions has been commissioned to produce another series of the Great British Food Revival for BBC Two.

The series, which really touched a nerve with the British public, aims to highlight the plight of British produce that is in danger of disappearing from our dinner tables forever. Some of BBC’s best-loved chefs and cooks will champion the qualities of our traditional produce and encourage us to rethink our cooking and shopping habits.

Many of the chefs involved in the first campaign like Michel Roux Jr, Gregg Wallace and Clarissa Dixon Wright are returning but this time they are putting their weight behind the revival of pears, rhubarb and British garlic respectively. They will be joined by other well-known food faces including Raymond Blanc who is championing British plums, John Torode who flies the flag for rare breed beef and Mary Berry who is committed to the use of traditional fresh herbs.

In addition to highlighting the problems facing many of our traditional British produce the chefs also cook three mouth-watering dishes that feature the ingredient they are championing.

The 8×60 series was commissioned by Janice Hadlow and Liam Keelan and will be Executive Produced for the BBC by Lindsay Bradbury. The Executive Producer for Outline is Bridget Boseley and the Series Producer is Susie Staples.
