Whats On TV? – Britain’s Big Wildlife Revival

Around 50 years ago, many of Britain’s rivers were so polluted that they were devoid of wildlife. Today, although the picture is better, there’s still a long way to go.

Here, the spotlight is on kingfishers, British crayfish and salmon – three river species that are still struggling to survive in the current climate for myriad reasons. The picture for these creatures is quite bleak, but it’s humbling to meet the individuals who all too often are single-handedly attempting to bring them back from the brink.
