The Telegraph – Tom Kerridge’s hearty winter pub recipes

This has been a big, beautiful, busy year for me. Developing and writing recipes for my first cookbook and television series has been a lot of hard graft – but you know, in the same breath, it has sort of been effortless as well. Of course, it’s centred on doing what I love most of all – thinking, planning, creating, cooking and eating food. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

I like to take ordinary, even everyday dishes and make them extraordinary. I’m not interested in pretentious food or bells and whistles – for me it’s all about the food being approachable and available to everybody. Not to mention good, honest dishes with the flavour and taste that’s the result of taking a little more time, care and attention.

Here is a selection of my absolute favourite pub food recipes, suitable for any occasion. They’re intended to showcase great, simple cooking that brings a smile to the face of everyone at your table. They won’t let you down!
