Things We Won’t Say About Race That Are True – C4, 9pm
IF Nigel Farage was a bridge builder, it’d be a brave person who drove over it. His skills in this field, as revealed in this documentary, are singularly lacking.
Ahead of broadcast, the UKIP leader sparked a furore when it was revealed, in answer to a direct question on whether his party would advocate a law against discrimination on the grounds of race or colour, he replied “no”.
Farage’s comments come during an interview with former head of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission Trevor Phillips, the man at the heart of 30 years of effort to reduce discrimination and improve equality across the UK.
He argues that in a diverse society we may have to get more used to giving and taking offence.
